1. Salisbury Zoological Park
With more than 100 animals and special programs designed to introduce visitors to the wonders of the animal kingdom, this 12-acre zoo is a delightful place to spend an afternoon. The onsite gift shop and cafe are closed December through March, so spring is the perfect time to visit. Best of all, the zoo is free and located right here in Salisbury at 755 S. Park Drive.
2. Arthur W. Perdue Stadium
Another great activity here in Salisbury is taking in a Delmarva Shorebirds game at the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The stadium, located at 6400 Hobbs Road, is also home to the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame.
3. Ocean City Boardwalk
As the weather starts to warm up, it’s the perfect time to grab your friends and family and check out the amusements, food, and shops on the Ocean City Boardwalk. Pack your sneakers and walk the entire length of the two-and-a-half-mile boardwalk, or hop on one of the boardwalk trams and enjoy the ride. Step off the boardwalk at any point to enjoy the sand and the surf.
At the southernmost tip of the boardwalk, you’ll find the Ocean City Life Saving Museum, where you can explore the history of the area and the role of the U.S. Life Saving Service. The boardwalk, located 40 minutes east of Salisbury, can be easily accessed from the parking lot at 809 S. Atlantic Avenue.
4. Pemberton Historical Park
The Pemberton Historical Park is a 262-acre park that offers four-and-a-half miles of nature trails, a nature center, and freshwater ponds with catch-and-release fishing. This park is also home to Pemberton Hall, an original 18th century house that is open to the public. Pemberton Historical Park is located in Salisbury at 5561 Plantation Lane.
5. St. Michaels
Nestled on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay, St. Michaels retains the look and feel of a 19th century seaport. Enjoy waterfront dining and wander through a historic district dotted with Victorian homes and boutique shops.
This Maryland town is just over an hour’s drive from Salisbury, giving you plenty of time to stretch out in a 2025 Ford Escape, which offers up to 40 inches of front-row legroom. The Chesapeake Bary Maritime Museum, located at 213 N. Talbot St. in St. Michaels, is a great place to start your visit.
