2024 Ford F-150 vs. 2024 Ford F-250 Engine and Power

The 2024 F-150 XL uses a 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost gas engine that delivers 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Comparatively, the F-250 XL comes standard with a 6.8-liter V8 engine for 405 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. Ford offers optional engine upgrades for both vehicles, as well as more powerful engines for the higher trims.

The F-150’s range-topper Raptor, for instance, can be had with an optional 5.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine for a supermassive 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. The F-250 Limited comes standard with a 6.7-liter HO V8 Turbocharged diesel engine that outputs 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. With these specs, the F-150 has a max towing capacity of 8,700 lbs, whereas the F-250 can tow up to 22,000 lbs.

Ford offers its F-250 trucks with gas or diesel engines only. Hybrid engine options are available for the XLT, LARIAT, King Ranch, and Platinum models of the F-150. Body Style Options

The 2024 F-150 can be had in Regular, Super Cab, and SuperCrew cab options with a 5.5, 6.5, or 8-foot box, depending on the trim. The 2024 F-250 is offered in Regular, Super Cab, and Crew Cab options with box lengths between 6.75 and 8 feet. The two truck models have a similar seating capacity of three passengers in the Regular cab and six passengers in the other cab options.
